SAFE TO SWIM STUDY
The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board is preparing to conduct a region wide Safe to Swim study throughout the Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Tulare Basins. To accomplish this, we are looking for citizen monitors to assist in identifying sample sites and assist in sample collection.
This study is the fourth in a series of annual Safe to Swim studies and second region wide study. Previous reports can be found at http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/centralvalley/ water_issues/water_quality_studies/surface_water_ambient_monitoring/ swamp_water_quality_reports/swamp_report_summary_sheet/index.shtml .
The sampling period for this study will run from August 30 thru September 23, 2010. During this time, three sampling events will be held (Sunday thru Tuesday during the weeks of August 30, September 13, and September 27). The attached documents provide additional details on this study and sample collection procedures.
Please reply by Friday, August 13, 2010 with sampling sites you feel we should consider including in this study and if your group would be able to participate in the sampling events. Contacts for this study are:
