The latest water news...

(AP) - An unpaid water bill is grounding a flight school for aspiring aviators, possibly for good.

A Merced County spokesman says the commercial flight school at a decommissioned Air Force base in Atwater failed to pay its water bill in May.

That blunder forced the eviction of the 100 students from dormitories at Castle Commerce Center on Friday. Many students had come from India to train at the school and were heading back following the evictions.

County officials temporarily grounded the embattled American School of Aviation in early June when attorneys said the school lacked liability insurance. Managers now say the school will likely be sold or relocated.
