(AP) - An unpaid water bill is grounding a flight school for aspiring aviators, possibly for good.
A Merced County spokesman says the commercial flight school at a decommissioned Air Force base in Atwater failed to pay its water bill in May.
That blunder forced the eviction of the 100 students from dormitories at Castle Commerce Center on Friday. Many students had come from India to train at the school and were heading back following the evictions.

You have to give 75-year-old Felix Smith of Carmichael credit for tenacity.
A quarter-century ago, Smith became the conscience of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service when he blew the whistle on the selenium poisoning of the Kesterson National Wildlife Refuge in western Merced County.
